Based on an Illustration Friday topic "Hoard" and also a certain amount of influence from Smaug in the Hobbit.
I've been practicing a lot in Painter at making new brushes and using more texture in my pictures.
I'm still trying to paint a "scary" dragon, but I think he looks quite cute still.

Thanks for looking.

I'm trying a different style in Painter, more of a line work method in this case. I still enjoy drawing more than I do painting even though I have focused on the painting side of things for my "finished" works in Painter.
This developed from a little sketch in my sketchbook. I'm trying to think of more ideas for another illustration in this style now.
Please let me know what you guys think, I'd love some feedback on this.

Jane is sort of my "alter ego" character. She's been in my head since I was about 7 years old and I thought it was time to get her out again.

I've been re-inventing her for quite a while now and want to write and illustrate a story about her.

Also I've been trying out different poses and things lately for my figure work as I noticed a lot of things I paint are a bit static, so this was quite fun to do.

Critiques/comments are welcome and appreciated by the way

She of the Jade Skirt

It is said that Chalchiuhtlicue, the Aztec Water Goddess was furious with humans for their wicked ways.
She swirled the seas into a fury and commanded the rain to pour down and flood the land. All life was destroyed, except for a few animals and humans which she transformed into fish.

I did this using Corel Painter and my Wacom Tablet. It took me about 30 to 40 hours, and I even did composition sketches first for this one. I was a bit stuck for ideas, so I went with Aztec Mythology for a change.
Any comments are always welcome and appreciated I would like to know what you think about this one if you have time, and thanks for looking
I went for a more illustrative style with this one I hope.
This will probably be my Christmas card this year, unless I have time to do something more festive. Have a nice Christmas
